2026 Board Nominees

For Fiscal Year 2026, there are three available board seats. We are specifically seeking representation from the following industries to create a well-balanced board: Health Care, Restaurant, Legal, and Financial Services.

North Tampa Bay Chamber – Ideal Board Member Profile (2025 Recruitment Cycle)

To maintain a balanced, diverse, and representative board, the next round of board appointments should focus on increasing female representation, strengthening community and consumer-sector voices, and expanding geographic reach beyond Wesley Chapel.

Demographic Snapshot – Current Board

  • Total Members: 16
  • Gender Balance: 4 Female | 12 Male (25% female)
  • Ethnic Diversity: 4 Minority members (25%)
  • Primary Geography: 11 of 16 from Wesley Chapel
  • Top Industries Represented: Business Services, Marketing, Real Estate, Medical, Finance, Legal, Food & Beverage
  • Goal: Move toward 40–45% female representation and broaden sector diversity.

Ideal Candidate Criteria

1. Professional Background

Target Industries (currently underrepresented):
• Home & Garden / Personal Services
• Shopping & Specialty Retail
• Family, Community & Civic Organizations
• Public Utilities & Environment
• Sports, Wellness, or Recreation
• Pets & Veterinary

Preferred Experience:
• 5+ years of leadership, management, or ownership experience
• Actively involved in the community or regional business initiatives
• Experience with nonprofit boards, civic organizations, or advocacy efforts

2. Representation & Diversity Goals

Ideal candidates should help strengthen one or more of the following areas:
• Gender Diversity: Preference for female leaders or entrepreneurs
• Geographic Diversity: Representation from Land O’ Lakes, Lutz, Trinity, or West Pasco
• Generational Diversity: Include emerging leaders – Millennial or Gen Z professionals
• Industry Diversity: Expand into consumer-facing and community-serving industries

3. Personal Attributes
  • Collaborative & Engaged – Works well in group settings and contributes actively to committees and events
    • Strategic & Community-Oriented – Brings ideas that enhance member engagement and community impact
    • Ethical & Dependable – Demonstrates integrity, transparency, and reliability in leadership
    • Connector – Builds relationships, refers business, and promotes Chamber growth through networking
4. Commitment & Expectations
  • Term: 3 years (renewable once)
    • Meetings: Attend monthly board meetings and actively serve on one committee
    • Engagement: Participate in Chamber events, advocacy, and business development initiatives
    • Financial Commitment: Maintain membership in good standing; participate in sponsorships or fundraising initiatives

The ideal 2025 board candidate is a female business or community leader from an underrepresented, consumer-facing industry such as retail, personal services, home improvement, or wellness. She should be deeply connected to the community, forward-thinking, and committed to advancing the Chamber’s mission of building a strong, inclusive, and thriving business environment in North Tampa Bay.
